Welcome to Hiyo. Please read these terms carefully before using our app.

1. What This App Does

Hiyo is a personal expense tracking application that helps you log daily spending, set budgets, and understand your financial habits. All data is stored locally on your device.

In simple terms: You track your expenses on your phone. Your data stays on your phone unless you choose to back it up.

2. Who Can Use This App

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hiyo. If you are under 18, we recommend using this app only with the guidance of a parent or guardian.

3. Your Data & Responsibilities

  • Local storage: All transaction data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. We do not have access to your data.
  • Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
  • Backup: You can manually back up your data to Google Drive. This backup is stored in your own Google Drive account. We do not access or store your backup files.
  • Data loss: If you uninstall the app or lose your device without backing up, your data may be permanently lost. We cannot recover it.

4. Pricing & Payments

  • Free tier: Hiyo is free to use with up to 30 transactions across all books.
  • Premium unlock: A one-time in-app purchase of USD $4.99 removes the transaction limit permanently.
  • No subscriptions: There are no recurring charges. Pay once, use forever.
  • Refunds: Refund policies are governed by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store from which you made the purchase.

5. Third-Party Services

Hiyo integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Google Drive API: For optional manual backup and restore of your data.
  • Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase: For processing the premium unlock payment.

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

6. Intellectual Property

The Hiyo app, its design, code, and branding are the property of Akaiden. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app.

7. Limitation of Liability

Hiyo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any financial decisions you make based on data in the app, data loss due to device issues, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will note the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
